Can anyone offer some tips on getting some good fireworks shots using a Canon 20D? Thanks for any replies

Here's a nice gallery of them, click on each pic and check out the exif data. On non-digital SLRs, I've always have luck using exposures from 1/2a second to 3 seconds (much more than 3 and I tended to get blurry lines of light, not crisp bursts of it). Probably will want to shoot around f/4 for ISO 200, maybe f/7.1 for ISO 400. Obviously a tripod is a must and turn off IS if you have it on your lens. And, don't be too close.

I use settings like 4sec f/16 iso 100 and just vary slightly from there. It just depends, what kind of background are you looking for?

Tripod, mirror lockup..
If you have a cable release... F11 @ ISO 100, and hold the shutter open as long as you need, otherwise if you are just pressing the shutter, 8 sec @F11, ISO 100
