Im looking to get a wide lens for my 300D. I usually shoot landscapes and interiors so a wide lens is a must. I looked at the canon, tamron and tokina offerings and think im going to go for the Tokina 12-24mm f/4 AT-X. Now I just need to clear up some confusion I have about whether this lens will be usable on a full frame and more importantly, a 1.3 crop sensor?

It will not work on a full-frame camera, nor the 1.3X. Only the Sigma 12-24 or 15-30 will work on full frame/1.3X crop cameras.

Will it just vignette at a certain focal lengh or will it be completely unusable?

The Canon ef-s series lenses for APS size sensors use a modified mount, so they do not work at all on a full frame body. I suspect that the other vendors use the same modified mount for their less-than-full-frame lenses.

Based on their specs here...
http://www.thkphoto.com/products/tokina/afl-00b.html

... it appears this was designed for the EF-S series cameras. Even if it fits, I would think it would produce images that are smaller than the sensor.

You could try:

http://www.sigmaphoto.com/lenses/len...mp;navigator=1

Which appears to be a full frame lens (it says it works with film cameras)

Or

http://consumer.usa.canon.com/ir/con...p;modelid=7487

Although that's a bit different than what you asked about.

No idea on prices.

Try Sigma4Less, I've only bought a 105mm filter from them - but I couldn't find any polarizer for less anywhere else
