I have recently purchased a Canon 20D with a 85mm 1.8 and the 50mm 1.8. I will use this mostly for indoor kids basketball games. The pictures with the 85mm lens were excellent but I find I need a longer lens for pictures on the other side of the court. I considered a zoom (Canon 70-200mm 2.8L) but I was told that 2.8 is not fast enough for many low light gyms? Have any of you use the 135mm 2.0L for low light gyms with success and/or could you suggest a Canon alternative?

the 135 2.0 is going to leave you wanting some more reach..

i think a good 70-200 2.8 will suit your purposes quite well.. if you aren't getting the shutter speeds you need.. bump up the ISO and then use a little noiseninja etc later one.. shouldnt be a problem..

but..

if you have an extra $4,000 sitting around in your pocket..

canon did make a 200 f1.8!!! you can still pick em up used at this price... and while it seems steep, this is probably the sharpest lens canon ever made.. not that i will ever see one in my liftetime.. hehe..
