I have been having fantastic results with the 20D taking closeups of horticulture. My problem is the reds and oranges. The colors are off and take away alot of the flower detail.

What settings should I consider when taking these pictures?

Thank you

Can you attach some sample images?
Sounds more like your exposure is off (and maybe white balance), if detail is being obscured, and colors are wrong.

While I am pleased with the last2 images, I am not with thefirst 2 images. All were taken on Auto. I'm wondering if a change in setting would help. Thanks.

The first two images do look oddish,
the 1st one is over satureated, the 2nd is leaning towrds being washed out.

You do realize that your on-camera flash fired for the first 2 shots you don't like.
It did not fire for the second two.

Auto mode bad :-)

Try setting the camera to Av, and select a f-stop for DOF control to shoot at.
The on-camera flash won't fire in this mode unless you force it.

Besides the comments already made, you can really not judge colors well until you have color calibrated your monitor. Have you done that?
