I think I have just made a mistake.

I bought a Jessops 320AF flash gun which states to be dedicated for Canon and supports TTL.

It doesn't work!!

It fires a very weak flash and my pictures come out virtualy the same as they do without flash.

Am i right in concluding that its because I am using a digital Canon not a film one?

The Jessops site says that it is a TTL flash for EOS. To me this means that it would be like a Canon EZ series flash which are not compatible with Canon EOS digital cameras.

You need a Canon EX series flash or something like a Sigma DG Super. If you are looking for a good inexpensive flash look at this one:

Thanks for your reply.

You confirmed what I thought so I have returned the flash gun to jessops.

Looks like I'm back to saving my pennies so I can get the Sigma EF 500 DG super.
