Hey,

I'm on yearbook staff at my school and tonight i was supposed to go take pictures of our last home football game. The camera I have is Canon Digital Rebel XT but I, being the dumb dumb person i am, forgot to bring the battery home. I tried going back but everyone has left, only person with a key is out of town. My question is, is the battery pack that comes with the xt the only thing you can use or do they make a disposable battery for the xt?

I've been to Circuit City and Best Buy, both say they don't have a disposable battery for the xt and their rechargable batteries don't come charged. So... am I screwed with covering the game tonight?

You left the kit battery at school right?

You should have just bought a new battery from the camera shop, or electronic store. Why do you need a "disposable" one specifically?

You have the charger at home right?

Well it's moot at this point....tell us what happened lol.

Some lessons are "hard learned" - you just had one.

I would have bought a battery at the store and borrowed their charger and power.

It wouldn't have hurt to explain your dilemma and asked. Most would help.

I own two batteries for just such occasions.
They are cheap to mail order, and when you're out shooting for a day you'll be happy you have that extra battery when you forget to charge the "main" battery and you discover that you're at 1/4 charge and you're at your destination.

Yes, places like Circuit City and many camera shops sell batteries for that camera. They probably aren't charged, but you're charger will handle that.
