~I'm pretty pumped I got the 20d with the kit lens, 50 1.8, and the 70-200 f4L! It'sawesome! Now comes the learning!~

congrats... you will not be disappointed in your decision... the 20d should be fairly accessiblegiven your knowledge of the G5.. enjoy your camera and welcome to the world of dslrs..

Your first DSLR? Good choice! You should be taking great pictures within the next eight to ten months ;-).

The learning curve is steep, but you'll love the results. Just stick with it and don't be disappointed with your first pictures.

Post in the photos section of the forum - and at least a couple in this thread too!

Learning curves on DSLRs can be pretty steep, so as Wildman says, don't be disappointed if your first shots with the 20D aren't as good as the G5. Once you get the hang of it they're going to be much better.

On the other hand you might take to it like a duck to water. Good luck.
