I just want a chunk of plastic, with a padded hand strap, like I have on my EOS Elan. Are there any third-party grips like that?

Go down to the hobby store. Buy a chuck of balsa wood. Whittle a grip to fit your hand. Drill a hole in the middle. Insert a 1/4-20 bolt. Thread it into the camera mounting hole. Custom non-electronic grip for XT! :lol:

Hmm, interesting idea, but I think the thing to do would be to have a grip machined out of tungsten; give the little camera some heft. :?
