Thank for the info steve. Thants is why I love your site. Learn it here first!

More (sorry, It is in French) from my favorite offline source the French Chasseur D'image magazine: (the online info format is not as good as the printed one)
http://www.photim.com/Infos/UneInfo.asp?N=796
in short:
It replaces the D60 and improves on what the D60 was lacking.
- 7 AF sensors from the Canon EOS30 (Elan 7)
- Simultaneous recording of Jpeg+Raw
- Color Managment including Adobe RVB
- Increase memory buffer for up to 3 pics per sec up to 9 pics
- better image processor max sensitivity up to 3200 ISO
- Autobracketing on color temperature

STEVE thanks for another Great article.
You are very good (but you know that)
Hope Canon will ramp up production on this beauty so we can see the price of the D60 go down!

Default $1499?

Are they going to make enough or will it be xmas before we can get one? At that price there is going to be a big rush. I wonder if you can find a discounted D60 for less?

In a tele-conference with Chuck Westfall of Canon USA, he told me that Canon was planning on 300% more production of the10D than they had with the D60. Availability will be a lot better than it was with the D60. Canon is always conservative in their production numbers and just underestimated the demand last year.

Chuck said the first shipments will arrive within a couple of weeks of the end of the PMA show (next week.)

And yes, there are a lot of D60's posted on eBay already !

hi Steve, no doubt the 10D is as exciting to look at as it will be to own (yes, already paid for one locally), and my D60 will stay in the inventory, but on your re/preview, you state on the samples page that your "preproduction" 10D developed problems..........knowing that it is a "preproduction" version, anything can happen, but what did go wrong?

Well, I've been a little busy with PMA things huh...

The 10D just wasn't working right so rather than waste my time with it I asked for another one. Unfortunately all of them went to PMA so I should have a replacement in the next day or so and I'll start working on the review again.
