I am interested in buying nikon D50. In online shops it comes with 28-80mm f/3.3-5.6G AF Zoom-Nikkor OR Nikon 18-55MM F/3.5-4.5G AF-S DXS Lens. I am a amateur photographer and little confused with which lens I should buy.
Please guide me in selection of lens.

Thank you

Hi playpool1200,

Welcome to Steve's digicams forums.

I think you will find you should have posted this question in the NIKONLENS section (you put it here in the CANON CAMERA section). You'll probably get some (more) answers there.. Try again!

But just my 2 cents worth between the 2 lenses you ask- it depends what type of shooting you do and if you want the wider end (18mm) compared to the telephoto end (80mm). Depends also on your style of photography and your budget. Remember with a Nikon D50, the crop factor of approx 1.5 makes these lenses about 42- 120mm and 27-82mm respectively. (I'm not sure you have written all the details exactly about the lenses... but that might be my lack of knowledge about Nikkor / Nikon lenses....)

And all the best, do post your question again in the Nikon lens section of this forum.
