and? Do tell about your impressions. Did you have a 20D or another Canon D-SLR before this one?

BTW, welcome aboard, from a new member to an even newer member

Ok, uh, well I would tell you all about it, but right now I dont have a lens for it:-)

Will be getting some very soon tho.

In the meantime, i can tell you that the camera feels nice, looks nice, and um, the buttons are uh, press-able.

I should probably start a new thread for this, but was wondering if the canon 50mm f/1.8 lens would be too long for portrait/general work (especially with the 1.6x crop factor)? Its just soo cheap and tempting, but if it doesn't do what I want it for I won't get it

And thanks for the welcome Yunus, but i'm not really a new member, just a new poster:-).

Yes, this is my first DSLR, very excited... Will probably get a sigma 50-500 for surfing and sports photography as its the best and cheapest long lense I can afford at this stage

I am sooooo jealous. The 30D will be my first DSLR too and the wait is killing me. I'm spending all my spare time reading reviews and forums trying to pick out a lens or two.
