I have my EOS 350D set for continuous file numbering.
I'm using a 512meg CF card. No images have been protected.
Sometimes a new folder is created after just a few photos. The file numbering remains consistant. Removing the card and replacing it does not cause new folder creation.

I have not found the reason in the manual for the additional folders.
Multiple folders are nice but I would like to know how to create them myself.

Thanks for your help.

You can't control the file numbering system beyond what you just described to the world. The continuous file creation system creates a new folder for every 00-99 files shot.

The new 30D allows for one giant folder.

I perfer the older way.

Thanks for the reply.
I wish new folders could be created at will. I also wish I had the cash to buy all the camera equipment I'd like to have.

I download using Photoshop Elements 3 and a card reader, I never see these folders you guys talk about. I create new folders to down load my pictures too, and name them so I will know what pictures or event is in them. I here lots of comments of how people don't like the fact that the camera creates a new folder every 100 pictures, if you don't ever see the folders, they can't bother you anymore.. Mind over matter, if you don't mind, it don't matter.
