I just got the 30D (20min ago) LOL, sigma 18-200 DC, 50mm 1.8, I had the Rebel xt but I sold it.

OK, my turn... what I have....

Canon 350D (Rebel XT)

Canon 28-135mm f3.5-5.6 USM IS- this is the lens I use 90% of the time...(Paul UK, why don't you use this lens much?)

Canon 50mm f1.8 II (for low light work and portraits)

Canon 18-55mm (kit lens) (for wide angle and some macros - it's the "best macro" type of lens - closest focussing and highest magnification value of my lenses)

spare battery

Unomat tripod

about 3 gigabytes worth of Compact Flash memory cards

The main reason is the IS goes into spasm at the most inappropriate time and I miss shots. I heard this is common for this lens You can feel it buzzing and any picture you take is blurred. It doesn't matter for architecture or landscapes, but candids wont wait for the IS to settle

Other reasons are it's not as good or as fast as my other two lenses. I know it covers the gap in between but I find myself using either the WA or the tele.
