The A-DEP setting on your mode dial is designed to enable maximum depth of field, in other words everything in focus from foreground to background. Monitor your shutter speed if the light is dim, as the camera may choose a slow shutter speed if the light is low. An IS lens, increased ISO, or tripod would avoid blurring due to camera shake in this situation.
