Default Canon and Foveon

Does anyone know of the back room progress or lack of between Foveon and canon with respect to having a canon pro digital slr with the foveon chip?? Timing, ballpark price, etc???

Canon, even -if- they were doing that would never comment on it until it was close to release. I've heard nothing about any of the major players going with the foveon chip. Kodak made some kind of deal with them but it was probably to serve as their fab facility. The Foveon folks don't the ability to make those imagers so they need a major CCD maker to work with. Kodak makes a lot of large area sensors (Kodak Blue line) that are used in their pro cameras and others as well. Time will tell if Sigma delivers with the SD9 or not...

If the differences are as dramatic as the samples show, I would really be interested in that type of a sensor in a Canon DSLR. What a huge jump in quality!!!
