Default Should I trust my 10D to an non-Canon battery?

Various places sell cheaper, higher-capacity versions of the BP511. Should I trust my 10D to these batteries? Is there one that anyone would recommend?

Someone asked a similar question at dpreview within the last day or so. The general answer was that it should be find. Someone found that they can be a little larger than the Canon one and there be bit a little bit difficult to get in and out.

But if you are thinking about troubles because of miss-match voltages that shouldn't be a problem. Plus, you can always double check it by looking up what the origional battery supplies.

Thanks for those links, BTW. I'm thinking of an after market battery for a 10D as well. Longer lasting and much cheaper. What else could I ask for? (except for them to use AA's instead and then skip this problem completely!)

I tested my 10D with the digipower 511 and it works fine, about the same duration on time in compare with the Canon BP 511, great value, I paid about $20 for each.

I purchased a couple-seem to work ok.What they don't tell you is they are a little bigger than the Canon, they fit tight.
I took a belt sander and took off a little of the top, works great now,

The digipower 511 battery that I mentioned fits nicely in the slot of any applicable Canon cameras (D30, D60, 10D, G1, G2, G3, pro 90IS).
