I took a picture, plugged my camera into my imac and accidently hit a button on my camera (I don't think it was menu - I think it was the wheel?).* The date settings came on blank for me to fill in.* *(I am assuming that I reset my previous settings.)* My problem is that my computer no longer automatically imports photos.* Before, I relied on plugging my camera in, turning it on, having it go into an export mode of sorts, and having it recognized by adobe photoshop or even iphoto.* Now when I either turn the camera on, or plug the cord into my computer, the red light blinks two or three times and it goes into regular camera mode - It doesn't recognize the computer and the computer doesn't recognize it.* Help!

I don't have the Canon 20D but it sounds like the interface reset to Print instead of PC. On the 5D, there is a menu setting for communication. I'm pretty sure it will say the same thing on the 20D. Make sure that it is set to PC Connect instead of Print/PTP.

Give that a shot and let me know.

I'm not sure what you problem might be, but I would suggest getting a card reader instead of plugging you camera into your computer, you just plug the CF card into the reader. It is a much faster download.

I use a card reader when I import full sets. but sometimesit is very convenient to simply plug my camera into the usb, it's aggravating not to be able to.

Did you check the communication setting?

On the other hand - a card reader prevents this and other problems like it !

Never much liked fumbling about with rubber doors and another cable, just to move images. All in how you look at it I reckon.
