Default Sigma 50-500mm for Canon 10d

Can anyone give input for what kind of overall performance the Sigma 50-500mm lens will provide on the new Canon 10d camera?
For example compatability and function problem free?
Thanks, Mike

have a look at www.belgiumdigital.com the webmaster JaJa has done the best pictures with Sigma 50-500 with D 60 or D 10, you can call them.

I've read good and bad things about this lens optically. That it looses a lot of sharpness on the long end. For it's price and range, it's not an uncommon lens to have.

Go to dpreview's forums and do a search in the Nikon SLR area. The optics should be the same for the 10D. You'll see someone called "village idot" (I think that is the name) did some test of it and was less than satisfied.
