Does anyone know how large the embeded JPG is that Canon puts into its RAW files. Specifically I'm using the 1D MkII N and the 20D.

What I'm trying to do is review the images that I've show using that JPG without zooming in so much that I'm actually enlarging it. And I don't know how much is too much unless I know how big it is.

I wouldn't take this to the bank.

But, from what I've been able to find out, it's likely 1536x1024 pixels in .cr2 files. I found a few threads discussing it elsewhere.

In earlier .crw files, the size of the embedded jpeg could vary.

Thanks for the info.
That is around the size that I thought it was, or could find out myself.
