I picked one up a few weeks ago to serve as a walkabout lens for my new 30D. Reviews indicated it had good performance andwasa good value. Important to me was the range it covered. I like to shoot a lot of landscapes and the wide end was critical. I was concerned about the rotating focus element, but find that I don't naturally grip the lensin that area. I've used it with a circular polarizer and am happy I don't have to worry about it rotating. To date, I really have no complaints. I would buy it again.

Now if I could only get my hands on a new (fixed) 70-300 IS, my collection would be complete. I leave for Alaska in < 2 weeks and am getting nervous. May need to rent something.
