Default 100-400 F4.5/5.6L IS w/ 60D or superzoom point and shoot

I have a Canon 60D and a 100-400 F4.5/5.6L IS lens, and am into photographing birds and dragonflies and other small things from far away distances.

How would the Canon Powershot SX50 or the soon to be released Panasonic Lumix DMC-FZ70 compare when zoomed out all the way to 1200mm to fill the frame of an object far away?

I know the point and shoots have smaller sensors, so after cropping a photo taken with my canon 60D shot at 400mm, would the photos be comparable in quality?

Any insight/opinion is appreciated. Thanks!

thats a really good combination i would stick with it and get a converter for it if you want a longer reach for birds and maybe a macro lens for the insects
