few lens's i can think of are
1) canon 28mm 2)Canon 24mmL(its around 1000 bucks for which u can either get the 16-35 or the 24-70) 3) simga 12-24 4) Tokina 12-24 (Both the 12-24 are extremely wide) 5) 35MM f2 6) Canon 24mm f2.8 I prefer shooting portraits specially weddings with primes. So 24mm, 28mm and 35mm all three for around 290+250+250 Only headache is changing the lens. Another all round solution is either the tamron 17-50 or the simga 18-50. Both produce excelelnt result with a 30D/20D |

It would be hard to go wrong with the Canon 16-35mm L if you have the budget for it.
