I've just bought the 70-200L f/2.8 IS lens. Would I be better off keeping my old 75-300 for the odd occasions I need the extra length or should I sell it and put the money towards a 1.4 TC?

Well Done!
I've got one and it's my favorite. Where did you get it? I got mine off ebay from HK. Sell it and get the TC. Cheers, Carl. |

Well, I got mine from Jessops in Coventry. Not the cheapest place I know, but they have a pay nothing for 9 months thing there
![]() ![]() Have you had yours long? I bought mind for my trip to OZ next week. I'm hoping to get some great shots with it. |

Hi,
I got my 70-200 and the 100-400 from Hong Kong off eBay, about a year ago. You should get some cracking shots, I love my 70-200 and use it the most. http://www.carls-photos.net/Web_Ambi...nce_02_JPG.htm All these were with the 70-200! I've just ordered the Sigma 18-50mm from Park Cameras and am planning to use that to get shots of paddocks and bikes. Cheers, Carl. |

For image quality, the 70-200 + 1.4 TC should be better. For portability when high quality is not essential, the 75-300 could be better -- you're the best judge of your own needs and tolerances there.

I agree with Madwand, the 70-200 IS f2.8 is not the lightest and most portable lens to cart around with you everywhere. While the 75-300 is small and light and although not the sharpest it does fit easily into a small bag.
I guess it all comes down to what your usage patterns would be ![]() Peter. |

I think if I will only get a few £ for it on ebay they I'd be better off keeping it. |
