Hi,
That Tokina is a great lens. You might want to add to your list the Sigma 70-300mm APO Super II lens. For about $170.00 it is a very good lens. I am in about the same budget range as you. I went with the Sigma 70-300mm NON APO Super MacroII and the Sigma 28-70mm 2.8-4 lens. Together they cost $200.00. I bought mine from Cameta Camera. The are on ebay and have a Brick and mortar store. This is their website on eBay: http://members.msn.ebay.com/ws/eBayI...cametaauctions If you have a chance give them a call. They are very helpful people and have great customer service. Another place to go for Sigma lenses is Sigma 4 less. Good luck with whatever lens or lenses you get and enjoy both the camera and your daughter. bluwing |

I have Sigma's 18-125mm DC lens for my 350D. You could replace your kit lens with this one alone. I think I paid about $275. I like it...

Tamron also makes a 28-105mmf/2.8 which for a walk around is a pretty good range. theSigma 70-200 f/2.8 is a load to use for a walk around, although a very nice lens, just got mine today, and it is heavy.

I have that Tamron 28-105mm f/2.8 for my Minolta - It's quite heavy too and it's front filter is even bigger than the one on the 70-200 f/2.8 EX!
![]() If I recalled correctly this lens cost even more than the EF-S 17-85 IS USM... but if you need a 105mm f/2.8... :? |
