I snagged a used 100-300 lens for $200 off E-bay. The lens is not highly regarded on full-frame cameras but our APS-C sensors use the center "sweet spot" of the lens and it does well for me. It does suffer from lens creep, but for the price I'm happy overall. I'm sure I can sell it for $200 when I'm ready for something better.

the ef 70-300mm is a good lens, sharp, and focus decently fast. Weather it is good for wildlife really depends on want kind of wildlife you shoot. It can be to short for smaller animal. But for larger animal it would work well.

Out of all the 300mm range lenses suggested, the ef 70-300mm is the best one of all of them.
