walk around lens

I'm sure this has been asked a million times, but here goes. I have a Rebel X1i, 18-55, and 55-250 lens. I find myself needing a middle range, and last vacation grew tired of constantly changing lens. So much so am almost thinking of selling and getting a good bridge camera. But know I would regret it. Please tell me of a good general use lens that I could use daily. TIA

Jack-of-all-trades-and-master-of-none lenses tend to be more expensive and not as good as multiple lenses of less ambitious zoom ranges.

I have a canon 18-135 as my vaca lens and it gets the job done very nicely

There is the nice Canon 15-85mm which gives you a bit more range than the 18-55mm. You haven't indicated what range you normally shoot in. If you need something to cover 18 to 250 of your current two lenses, there are those 3rd party 18-270mm "vacation" lenses, if convenience of not having to change lenses is a higher priority over absolute image quality.

Thanks, I will probably look into the 15-85.
