Please help, I am trying to find a lens for my Canon digital XT, to shoot

basketball and indoor volleyball. Would the Canon 85mm 1.8 lens be a good

choice or the Sigma 75-200 2.8? Or does anyone else have any other

suggestions. Thanks for any help!

Canon 85 1.8 it the best choice. A 2.8 lens may be too slow. The 85 also has fast auto focus.

I have both the 85mm 1.8 and the Sigma 70-200mm.I agree with JohnG as the 85mm is the better choice, although I have used both forvolleyball and basketball. As long as you are close enough to the action for 85mm focal length.

I agree too with a brighter lens would help for indoor sport. I done some wrestling shoots using external flash but a 1.8 will definitely help
