Does anyone know whether there are two versions of this lens? Namely: SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG MACRO and the SIGMA 24-70mm F2.8 EX DG DF. Or are these one and the same lens? I need some help on this one asap.
If there are two versions, can anyone tell me what the difference between them is? Thanks!

The difference is the 'DG' - one with and one without

It's basically the same lens with the 'DG' being the newer version with a lens coating to improve contrast on 'digital' camera due to internal reflection...

i wish they had HSM in both the versions. One sad thing is Sigma doesnt implement HSM in the mid focul ranges. from 17-70..

24-70 is a tank..may be the didnt want to make it heavier..

HSM is a nice feature. Very silent, relatively fast and really good.

-> My 17-35 f2.8-4 EX has HSM...
You can then opt for the APO 50-150mm F2.8 EX DC which is also an HSM

The 24-70 is a tank because it's an f/2.8 and also a full-frame with a larger image circle - The 17-35 is also quite large (also full-frame) but not as heavy because of the variable aperture f/2.8-4.
