I was able to clean it up a bit using noise ninja and some sharpening (see the new attachment).

As JohnG said in his response, focus issues are to be expected in low light (ie when you have to use ISO3200 with higher shutter speeds) even with a canon 70-200mm f2.8 lens

There are a couple things you can do:

1. use a lens within it's focus limitations - i.e don't try to use a 50mm lens from 40 feet away - use it within 10 feet.

2. Use fast focusing lenses - the sigma 24-70 is not one (compared to others)
