Almost nothing...... I have not really played with any primes although would like to add a macro the the kit one day. I do alright as my Sigma 17-70 will basically focus onto the front element so use that in conjunction with the 1.4 or 2x telecons and get some reasonable results for the small amount I do.

I had forgotten you had the same lens but yes they work ok, not fantastic as you are looking for really high detail in macro and they lose a bit but if you don't want anything too large then no real problems. You do lose AF (apart from at the wide end/middle) but in general for macro you would not need it anyway.

Hope that I will get the 120-300 next month if I get enough in my pay, if not a few more months.

How much did you pay in the end for the Exp 8?

I doubt it, that is the problem I had when flying to the US in August (just after all the problems) we couldn't take anything larger than a small laptop bag. I would guess you need to check it so you might want some sort of case to but the bag in to help protect it. Not sure what the pros do, would like to find out though.
