Bill - you know what's sad? I bought a Sigma 70-200 2.8 for $675 (in 2004)and the 120-300 for $1800 (just one year ago - sorry if you're reading this Mark :G). One of the biggest competitive advantages I felt Sigma offered was that they were substantially less expensive than their OEM counterparts.

i picked up a 120-300 for 1450 too. Excellent lens. Worth the money. But today the lens cost even in the used market is atleast 1600 from what i have seen.

Got very lucky with the purchase

Think about it - Sigma could easily add a distance focus limiter switch to theses lenses and charge even more... :lol: :-) :G
