What to buy for all purpose.... have to choose before Monday
I will be doing my serious work with a Sigma 70-210Apo 2.8 lens using 1.4x and 2.0x extenders.

But I also need a nice close lens.
At the moment I use a push type Canon EF 35-105 3.5/4.5 lens which gives good results but also which I can sell.

I'm thinking about the following lenses, which are offered used.
Quality must be good but not L 2.8 quality. I shoot mostly birds and sport so the Sigma is really the prime lens.

Sigma AF 28-200/3,5-5,6 DL Hyperzoom macro, silver $ 195,00
Sigma AF 28-300/3,5-6,3 asferisch compact hyperzoom macro $ 295,00

It must be a lens I can bring along when I cannot bring the Sigma, for example amusement parks etc. the 300 looks very promising because it will cover almost the entire range.

Hope someone can help me out a bit.

If you own the Canon 10D camera, nothing beat the original Canon USM on Canon camera. If you don't have enough money right now, then save it, and get Canon later. At least right now you do have some Canon to shoot, another 2 or 3 months will not make any different, be patient and be happy.

I allready sold my lenses because they really were not up to par compared with what I saw from the Sigma's.

It will be hard choice but I think I will buy the 28-70 EX 2.8 they just got it in for $ 199,00.

Have you looked @ the EX 24-135 f/2.8-4.5 it's just released... It's more compact and lighter than the EX 28-70 f/2.8 since neither is ultrasonic!

The EX 15-35 f/2.8-4 is... I think you'll need the wide angle too, 28mm is too tight on the 10D. Otherwise I think the EX 24-135 f/2.8-4.5 will give the EF28-135 f/3.5-5.6 IS USM (which I have) a lot of competition!

I think I will just shop arround there.
They have 100's of second hand lenses (although it seems that way).

28 should be enough for me, I now use a 35-105 and I never really miss the wideangle only on some shots I wish I had a tick more, I love to get up close and personal with my shots, on the HP it all started with 28mm I believe and I never shot in that setting, always some zoom. So 28mm should be enough.
