What do you want the filter for, are you looking just to protectthem or something else?

For lens protection a good quality multi coated UV filter.

I was thinking between a circular polarizer or a UV, what is the difference between them in bright daylight with lots of sun.
A UV does not do anything... Any piece of glass will filter out UV including your lens - This is why a UV filter is usually used for protection

Apolarizer however deepens the sky or reduces reflection off the water/glass surfaces depending on the angle

(albeit at the expense of a few stops again depending on the angle...)

I used to have a filter to "protect the lens", but I finally woke up to myself. We go out and buy an expensive camera and lens and then put another piece of glass in front just in case.

So I don't use mine anymore.

I think UVs are a waste of time and degrade the image you are trying to take.
