Correct

I'm just inclined toward the Metz because I never have enough light... and two heads is always better than one!:lol::lol:

Well the wedding came and went. My final inventory for the shoot consisted of:

Canon XTi
Canon 40D

Canon 18-55mm IS
Canon 17-55mm F2.8 IS
Canon 70-200mm F2.8 IS
Canon 580EX II
Sigma 10-22?/20?mm (loaner from a friend.)

Charge cards are wonderful but I digress,,,

The shots came out ok but I see what you mean about the 580 being weak on the wide end. Fortunately those were only experimental shots and were not on the "must-have" list. Also I was the 2nd wheel in all this and my role was strictly filler and alternative angle/lighting for the main shooter.

NHL: Thanks for all your advice and input on this, I WILL look into additional lighting for the really wide angle stuff. :|

My wife is still getting over the cost of this stuff and doesn't like you too much. But I love yah man!

As an aside: The 18-55mm IS kit lens is a vast improvement over their non-is model but don delude yourself into thinking it is the "poor mans" 17-55mm 2.8 IS. From my (really) quick test and comparisons it is close in the center under good lighting conditions but starts to fall WAAAAY behind the 2.8 once the lights go down.

And now it is time to start lining up the for sale listings on Craigslist.

When the dust settles after the Packer game I will be putting up:

Rebel XTi with Opteka battery grip (4 batteries total)

430EX Speedlite.

18-55mm IS lens.
