Skiing pictures from the weekend

All taken with 1d mark III and 500mm F4 IS lens. Hand held and AI-Servo.

All shots are taken while the subject(kids/people) where in motion

wow this pictures have amazing color, great sharpness, and really good DoF, and not a hint of motion wonderful shots!, especially the 3rd one, did he by chance crash after that?

thanks

and thanks to the 500mm. all pictures at F4 wide open

and most of the pictures are full size and cropped very little.

One of the sharpest lens wide open. And indeed the kid fell down but i was wearing a glove and due to the cold i didnt continue to press the focus and the pictures after that wen oof. Had to remove the gloves for the next set of shots. Will post the next set soon

While sharpness & color are good in all I'd say the ones above are actually the effective photos because they acually convey something.

The other photos are less interesting because it's either a bad angle or the person looks like they're standing still. Of the lot, the B&W shot and the last one quoted above are IMO the best.

Thanks John...it was an unexpected trip. I wish we went a little early to get to level 7-8 course for more action shots..

here is the sequence of that kid falling(the actual fall i coudnt capture, rather i didnt capture )

Nice shots, clear, sharp and bright, plus everyone looks to be having fun. Even the kid falling down seems to be having a good time.
