Just wondering if anyone out there as found a review or even better been fortunate enough to handle the new Sigma 120-400mm lens? The press release really sounds good.

It's not release yet so I doubt you'll find anything on it...

The biggest drawback on the old 80-400 was it lack of HSM which this new version will address and according to their MTF it should also outperform the older 80-400 (which is already not bad) as well!

IMO the biggest dilemma will be to pick from the 120-400 or 150-500...:-):G

Thanks for the info NHL. I was set on getting the Canon 100-400L 4.5-5.6, but now I will wait abit to see the comparisonwith the sigma.

Agree - 2nd vote for the the 150-500 as well...
-> If it's as fast as the Bigma in AF and now with OS to boot I can see a clear runaway winner here in the 150-500mm:

o Only 160g more than the 120-400 (i.e. the weight of the tripod collar)
o f/6.3 is only a 1/3 stop less than f/5.6
o Make a perfect 500 companion whenever you don't want to take the EF-500 f/4
