Does anyone have sample pictures taken with this lens? Preferably indoor shots, people shots?

I have a new 40D thinking about getting one...

Can't post any pictures (at work) right now from my 50mm 1.8 lens, I bought a month ago. Can say this about the lens, it is the first one I grab out of the camera bag, it takes great pictures, sharp, clear and nice blurred background when required.

Hmm, actually I hate this lens.

Pros:

1. Cheap.

2. Sharp.

3. Cheap.

4. Light.

5. Did I mention cheap? Fantastic value for money.

Cons:

1. Build quality.

2. Slow and noisy AF.

3. Horrible bokeh. My opinion only, but the background blur from Canon's other 50mm lenses isMUCH nicer.

4. Wrong focal length on 40D. Well - obviously that depends on what you're looking for right? But don't forget 50*1.6=80. So if you want an 80mm equivalent then it's the right focal length. If you want a 50mm equivalent it's not.

Same reasons as peripatetic. Hated it wideopen on my 20D (back focus) OK at f2.8,Great on my 1D MKII N AF spot on.

Indoor shot, 2 year old daughter in bath.

AV 1/200, f1.8, +2/3 exp comp, ISO 400

I liked the 50mm until I got to borrow my friends 85mm F1.8 and it was all over, sold the fifty and bought a 85mm. Both take great shots.

being new to my dslr and only having the 1 kit lens, i decided to go out and buy the canon 50mm 1.8 prime. totally agree with the comments above, but it is capable of some pleasing images - but i have also shot some real cack ones too !

still learning so maybe these shots could be improved further with some more experience?

I've got one, but almost never use it. Used it on a 30D and a 40D, but dont like the field of view.

I've also got an Sigma EX 24-70 ( Full F2.8), Wich i like much better than the 50mm. The only reason to use the 50 for me is when i need the 1.8, in low light situations where i can't use my flash.
