Default Sigma lens for Digital Rebel

Any experience with Sigma 24-70 mm F2.8 EX or Sigma 24-135 mm F2.8-4.5 IF ? I'm considering a Digital Rebel and one of these lenses for everyday use.

Well I have the Canon 10D with a Sigma 70-200 EX 2.8 and I use this as my priority lens over my others. So far, I do not see any reason not to give them another shot.

The EX series is much better series than the non-EX IMO; However the 24-70 f/2.8 EX is non HSM and also not wide enough after the 1.6x factor. The new 20-40 f/2.8 EX may be a better fit for you but it too is non-HSM...

I went for the 17-35mm f/2.8-4 EX and also the 70-200mm f/2.8 EX (just like UniSonBBS). Both of theses lenses are HSM (ie ultrasonic) which are super-fast and quiet, allow manual overide, and got fantastic results!

For the 300D however I think you should get that cheap standard EF-S 18-55mm for the wide and put all your money on the excellent 70-200mm f/2.8 EX which is also APO BTW :P

If you decide to go with Sigma lenses, go for the EX series plus HSM, you can't go wrong...
