hi,

I know its not a canon lens, but it will be for a canon 450d
Is this a reasonably good macro lens, say 1:1 and i think its the EX range

Sigma Lens for Canon EF - 50mm f2.8 EX DG Macro

If anyone has it, i would love to see some examples.

cheers
simon

Depends on what you want to photograph.

For bugs, ants and other little creatures is this lens quite short, an 105/180 mm lens would do better, because you wil have to get very close, and most animals will scare away. For still objects it isn't a problem.

I use a Sigma 180 EX 3.5 Macro myself, and i love that lens.
