we took this lens on a recent trip to venice and croatia. our impressions are summed up in a short review and a few links to sample pictures. hope you find it useful.

Nice, very nice indeed. Thanks for sharing what's important about the lens and showing its performance.

nice info on the lens
how much did it cost as cost does drive choice
nice pix too as it captured the soul of the cities
this way i get to see places i may never get to visit in my life and they have a 'real' feeling rather than a mag pix which are geared to attract and sometimes seem to perfect

We purchased the lens from B&H. The current price is around $550. Here is the link:

I'm glad you enjoyed the pictures. We quite often go back to the pictures to relive those places and moments.

Actually this Tokina is one of the 'best' super-wide at the moment for cropped camera...

I been trying to get it for my Nikon too and it's on back ordered status everywhere since this past spring (just check the above link!)
