I have a Canon AE-1 and several Canon FD lenses. I'm considering the purchase of a D40my question is are the FD lenses compatible with the D40 body. Just curious to know if I have the option to use them. As I'm sure you all know replacing these lenses with the digital equivalent means thousands.

hello kramed
scroll down and see my post MF/FD LENSES ON XSI
is it a d40 or a 40d
there are convertors but i believe they degrade the quality
i considered this option too as lenses are quite expensive
if your looking for an all purpose lens
new sigma 18-200 with OS
new tamron 18-270 with VR
hopefully someone whoi has used either convertors or any of these lenses can help
i tested the sigma and it was really good but it costs approx 600 bucks
good luck
