hi there, new to the site (GREAT site!) and need help please.

i have a Canon Rebel G SLR camera from a number of years back, circa 1997-98, and want to buy a new digital SLR. i'm looking at the Canon Rebel XS (the one that comes with the 18-55 lens).

i haveCanon 35-80 and 75-300 lenses for my Rebel G - will these work on the Digital Rebel XS?

i also have a Vivitar flash (728AFC)for my Rebel G - will this work on top of the Digital Rebel XS?

thanks!

Yes - Although you would like the result as much
The 35-80 is of the wrong focal lenght on a 1.6x crop camera...
... and the 75-300 is quite 'soft'
-> I'll make sure to get the 'kit' lens with the purchase

No - Even older Canon's own brand (type A flash) wouldn't work with their newer digital SLRs
