Default What lens to Replace the Kit lens with XSI

Would like to get a walk around lens thats better then the kit lens. What would be my best choice for under 400.00. Or would you recommend just buying the kit lens again? Thanks in advance

There isn't anything for under $400, but for around $450 you could get the 17-85 IS (more range) or the Tamron 17-50 f2.8 (faster).

All-in-all though the 18-55 IS kit lens is incredible value for money.

+1 for Peripatetic comments....the 18-55 IS is an incredeble lens. May add a 55-250 IS lens that usually comes as the twin kit. THe 55-250 is a terrific lens that shoots a decent macro, creates a wonderful bokeh for portraits at 150-250mm end and has IS which helps.
