Ok, I went a got the canon 100mm today, traded in the 50mm f2.5. It was not that bad, got 160 for the trade making the out of pocket even less then I expected. One month early before the wife's b-day and done shopping.

Now just need to wait till march to check out if there is any new travel size EVIL camera, and I will be done for this year with photo equipment.

LOL, that is way to much stress for me. Get it done early and relax is my thing.

The 100mm is much more quite and faster then the 50mm.

I like it when a lens can do double duty,

Now I actually have primes ranging for 28mm 50mm 85mm and 100mm. I had double up on 50 with the old macro.

I never use the 28 as it is a show piece I leave on the old 630.

I actually use my 28mm quite a lot on my crop bodies.

offtopic- reading your signature (the super frequent flyer part) reminds me of the movie "up in the air"; have you seen it yet?

No actually, I have not who is in it?

Actually the wife puts me to shame now on how much she travels, she does 3 intercontinental flights a month now for work, not including the flights back and forth between our 2 hometowns.

My in-laws call us the jet setting couple. And my friend can not believe how much we travel. JFK airport is my second nyc home it seems at time.
