Default Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 non-IS

I have read several posts lately about the different zooms in the 17 to 55 range. I just wanted to say that I have really enjoyed having my Tamron 17-50 f/2.8 since last June. I got it for birthday parties, family get-togethers, and church functions and have been pleased.

I have loaned my 50mm f/1.4 prime along with a superzoom Sigma and my XSi to my sister for her trip to Israel. So yesterday at the basketball games I decided to try the Tamron for a few shots from the baseline. Nothing great but here are a few examples...

Andy,

The Tamron 17-50 is a great lens and a great value for its price.

Speaking about Israel, flash floods in the desert from this week, taken with the Tamron:

This is what I call tack sharp.

Hi Ilan,

I agree, very nice and versatile lens.

Very nice photo there. I see it was at f/7.1. I would have assumed f/16 or higher to get that much stuff in focus.

I'll have to share this with my mom (who is also going) and sister.
