Default 50mm f1.4 for Full Frame

I'm trying to find 'real' information on the two contenders in this category. I've been playing around more with shooting primes and the 50mm f1.8 II is not performing well enough in regards to AF for anything more than fun and I want to start bringing it into play at weddings for extra creativity.

Does anyone know of reliable sources for a review on these two lenses using FF (will be on Canon 5DmkII), will also sometimes go on the 7D or 1DmkIII but these will pick up more of the sweet spot so the 5D is what will make it work?

Thanks,

Mark

SLRGear.com tested the 50/1.4 USM on both a 20D and a 5D. It seems that it needs to be stopped down to f/2.8 before it gets good, and at f/4.0 it gets really good. Would the USM help with your AF issue?

if 50f1.2 is as sharp as 85 F1.2 @ 1.2 u can get some really creative pictures at that aperture.

Yeah at 1500 dollars for a 50mm prime, it is pricey. You need to also consider that it works the best on a FF body. So rob 2 banks
