Default Can a FD lens be used with the Rebel?

I understand that FD lenses are manual focus lenses but can it be used with my Rebel?

This is one of the differences between Canon and Nikon. Nikon has kept the same basic lens mount style/shape for a long time. They have changed the contacts and such, but not the basic protocals.

So you can use some really old Nikon lenses on the newer cameras. They might not support all the new fancy metering options (matrix) or have AF, but they will connect up and work in a basic way.

Makes the Nikon world more complex, but also keeps you investment in lenses going for a long time. Canon made the huge leap awhile back, and completely changed lens mounts (instead of the gradual changes with backwards compatability support that Nikon has been making.)

Actually, I believe they can. Here's a link to another thread where I asked the same question:

I haven't bought one yet, but I plan to. I'd like to find the genuine Canon adapter.
