Default Old Canon Film Lenses On New Canon DSLRs?

Hi
I'm looking to purchase a DSLR, preferably Canon (Rebel XS). I was wondering if anyone knew if the old lenses from the Canon film cameras would possibly fit the new DSLRs? If not, is there an adapter ring so they could?

If it was an eos film body, then the lenses it will work on a digital eos body.

If it is an older "FD" lens, not without an adapter. They made 2 adapters and depends on which one your lens takes (based not on the mount which is the same, but mirror/lens element clearance). Problem is, all primes less than 200mm and some shorter zooms, the spacer throws the focus off and the lens will will not focus to infinity with the adapter.

If you see EF printed on the lens, it'll work without an adapter.
