Default Old Film Pentax lenses w/ Canon Rebel XS?

Hi.
Recently a friend of mine gave me some old film lenses from their Pentax camera. I was told if I get the right adapter, I could use them on my Canon Rebel XS. Is this true?
I think the lenses are 34mm, and my camera is a 58mm. Let's say they would work with my camera. Would my image be affected jumping from 34mm-58mm?

Can you provide any more info about them?

Can you attach photos of them?

You can get K-mount adapters, but the problem is that the adapters are not all that cheap and the lenses may be worth less than the adapter.

Your camera is 58mm? Not sure what you mean by that.

I think kr.j is talking about the filter diameter, which makes me thing that the "34mm" Pentax lenses are for a P&S film camera, not an SLR.

I was talking about the diameter of the lens.
I was told the lenses were from an old SLR. .I'm talking old. I really have my doubts that they'll work.
Your probably right about the adapter. I'm beginning to look into it, and the prices don't look like it'll be worth it.
