Anyone have any comments, reviews, or insights about the following extreme zoom lenses:

Tokina 80-400mm
Tamron 55-200mm
Tamron 28-300mm VC

You have allot of different ranges, what do you want this zoom to shoot mostly?

Default Tamron SP 70-300mm VC USD XLD

wait for Tamron's new lens.
Boy that name is a mouthful.. it has ultrasonic AF motor, Vibration compensation and has eXtra Low dispersion elements. These are usually found on top lenses.
They've released it with the Nikon mount
(one of the reviews I read today -http://www.durys.com/blog/?p=83)
The canon mount is available for pre-order. The listed price is $449 but tamron gives a $50 mail in rebate for a final price of $399. If the reviews from the Canon users turns out to be anything close to the reviews the Nikon users have posted, this should be a great lens at a great price.
I just ordered mine on Amazon yesterday and hope to get it in the coming week or so. Fingers crossed. Will post a reply as to the IQ when i've had a chance to test it.
